Types of port
Simple or complex? We’ll work it out.
Simple port
One number on a standard line
A single landline number, or a 1300 or 1800 number. Usually the quickest to move: [X business days].
Complex port
Number ranges and multi-line services
Several numbers, number blocks, or services such as ISDN. We plan the cut-over with you: [X–Y business days].
How it works
Four steps, and we handle three of them
1 · You
Send us a recent bill
It shows the account number and the numbers to move, so the request matches first time.
2 · Us
We lodge the port
We deal with your current provider and keep you updated.
3 · Us
We set up routing
Greetings, queues and phones are ready before the numbers arrive.
4 · Us
Cut-over
Calls start arriving on CloudLine. We confirm with a test call.

What you’ll need
- A recent bill from your current provider
- The account holder’s name and ABN
- A list of the numbers to move
- A signed authority from an authorised contact
Don’t cancel your old service yet
Cancelling before the port completes can mean losing the number. We’ll tell you when it’s safe.
Will my phones stop working during the port?
Your current service keeps running until cut-over. On the day there may be a short changeover window of [X minutes]; we’ll book it at a time that suits you.
How long does a port take?
Simple ports usually take [X] business days and complex ports [X–Y]. We’ll confirm a date once your current provider accepts the request.
What if the port is rejected?
It’s usually because details don’t match your current account, such as the account number or business name. We’ll tell you what to fix and lodge it again.
Can I port a mobile number?
[Confirm whether CloudLine ports mobile numbers.]
Do I need to tell my old provider?
No. The port request tells them. Don’t cancel your old service until we confirm the port is complete, or you may lose the number.
Ready to move your numbers?
Send us a recent bill and we’ll confirm the port type, fees and timing within [one business day].
